Dr. Harmon graduated from Midwestern University in Illinois. Before dental school, she graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana with a degree in Kinesiology. Dr. Harmon worked as a front desk administrator and a dental assistant at a dental office and orthodontist office, respectively, before applying to dental school.
Growing up, Dr. Harmon more or less lived in the dental chair. With supernumerary teeth, congenitally missing teeth, and a propensity for cavities, it was lucky that she enjoyed going to the dentist. She had incredible dentists who did amazing work and ignited her interest in dentistry. The moments that she remembers most vividly are when she felt like she was being heard by her dentists and that they truly cared about her well-being. From these moments, she knew that she wanted to strive to be the dentist that not only did great work, but also empathized with and took the time to listen to patients. She commits to serving her patients with this philosophy every day.
Dr. Harmon enjoys that dentistry is a career that is always evolving. Staying up to date with the most current techniques and newest science-based research is something she looks forward to doing throughout her career.
When outside of the office, Dr. Harmon can be found enjoying time with her fiancé, Derek, and their cat, Chip. She has taught fitness classes since 2010, and continues to teach cycling classes every so often. She also enjoys running, weight lifting, reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
